optimistic delusions

sometimes you think i’m delusional,
and sometimes i think i am too. 
yet most of the time 
i’m fairly convinced my ways of seeing 
and believing and holding faith 
in better ways ahead
are exactly what we need 
to change the trajectory 
of human life on earth. 
i think i just have faith
and optimism 
and an imagination that tends 
to flow towards beauty 
and wellness 
and possibilities that bring peace 
and compassion 
and understanding. 
call me whatever you will,
i’ll just be over here 
envisioning and living 
in a way 
that defies the constructs 
of linear life.
